For Power and performance in a car that stints on absolutely nothing in terms of luxury. Amazingly spacious cabin

Against The 62 is half a metre longer than the 57 and is positively enormous. For its huge price tag one would expect a more composed and refined ride

Maybach 62 Saloon 5.5 V12 4dr

If you must have a Maybach 62, this is the one to have. The larger-engined version costs just too much. Better still, you could perhaps make do with a 57 and save tens of thousands.

Buyer's notes

Target Price team says:

This is a car that's all about extremes. It's extremely expensive to buy and run, extremely quick and can come with pretty much anything you can think of. In fact, there are enough options (how about 24-carat gold-plated wheel rims?) to permit two million permutations of colour, trim and equipment, so chances are your Maybach will be unique.

If you want the ultimate in excess, go for the 62 version – and, let's be honest, when you're talking about a car this expensive, the extra it costs over the 57 is perfectly affordable. But, back in the real world, the most basic (although that's far from the most appropriate word) version of the Maybach gives you everything that's good about the car.
