I was fortunate to be provided with an 2009(59) S350 CDI whilst my car was off the road.
This particular Mercedes is everything that a luxury car should be. Quick, quiet, smooth, powerful, supremely comfortable and extremely large.
The driving experience is one of luxurious separation from the outside world. Given its size, the car is effortlessly quick - particularly once on the move. Ride comfort is a much documented strength and I found this particulary true at lower (town traffic) speeds. Handling is predictably relaxed rather than sporting - regardless of the selected air suspension setting.
Everything imaginable is electronically operated but it is the small touches that really impress. The head rests that lower when the passenger seat is unoccupied and the controls to adjust the angle of the DVD screen give the impression that every conceivable aid to comfort has been considered.
In terms of negative points there isn't much to report although the indicator feel and action does seem a little cheap in comparison to the rest of the car. In fairness it feels very similar to other Mercedes that I have driven and this could be a case of personal taste.
This is second review my s320sdi is eighteen months old i have had a lot of bother with it, 6ooo miles on the clock 2000 going back and forth to the garage, the car is still the same, the mercedes dealer wants nothing to do with it, my next car will be a B.M.W
Five months and 12000mls since I gave this car a 5 star review and now .....oh my god!!!!!!!!
Rattles galore, steering creaks clatter and bangs, gear box clunks and it keeps "coughing and chugging" sometimes when you start it.
Doesn't need the sat nav to the main dealer its been so many times!!!!!
But I still love the 35 to 38 mpg!!!!!
My S63 AMG four-door is so fast and the handling is so great that 10 days later I brought another four S320s.
I have owned this car for 3 months and 3000 miles…
I have owned Porsches for 25 years now. I've had…
