For The Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster is a striking supercar with brutal performance and awesome grip. The V8 engine makes a glorious noise, and this soft-top version lets you hear it that much better.

Against The interior is a let-down in terms of style and quality – it's not much more special than those of most other Mercedes. This SLS AMG Roadster version loses the glamorous gullwing door that feature on the coupe. The ride quality is also unrelentingly hard, and it's simply too difficult to see out of.

We like this Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster, but the coupe is better. The interior could be better, but that doesn't detract from the drama of the car.

Buyer's notes

Target Price team says:

You'll have to hunt down a specialist AMG dealer to order your Mercedes SLS roadster, and you'll also have to be patient, because there's a lengthy waiting list. Options are limited to lightweight forged alloy wheels, ceramic composite brakes, stiffer suspension, a Bang & Olufsen stereo and four-way lumbar supports for the seats. You can also opt for either a fancy Alubeam paint finish that's supposed to look like liquid, or a classy matt paint finish Don't expect any discounts, though.
