    My car

I too have a D22 version that the engine blew at 77k, 6 months out of warranty. Nissan couldn't have been more helpful, despite a 'not quite prefect' service history and lack of warranty. Nissan agreed to fix it for no cost to ourselves other than the cost of towing to the garage. I admit it's taken 10 weeks to sort out, however this did happen over the festive period and we're really happy with the service from both Nissan customer serices and the dealership, which we didn't even buy the car from in the first place. I LOVE this car, up until then it had been extremely reliable, I have towed two large horses across all sorts of terrain with ease. Living in the north of scotland it has tackled severe wintry roads with no effort at all. Previous to my 2005 2nd hand D22 I had a 2007 discovery, from new, which was the most unreliable car I had ever driven with appaling customer service to match. I'm going to be renewing my car within the next 6 mths and won't be considering anything else other than a Navara! If you want something that tackles all terrain and tows with ease I'd highly recommend it.

    My car

I bought the car pre owned from nissan bournemouth. it was about 19 months old. its the adventura automatic. i got it at a good price. When i initially viewed the vehicle it was dusty and in a warehouse, awaiting preperation. On delivery i noticed some marks on the bonnet, which i reckoned were bird/sap droppings. The sales assistant informed that they will take the vehicle back for a day and 'mop' the affected areas, i had my doubts. I had a call from them and was informed that the whole front end required re painting and i would be without the vehicle for 4-5 days. I got a micra as a replacement, which did not bother me, as i had not used the truck yet. Nissan Bournemouth make an excellent job of the paintwork, and there was not one indication of any payment, so far then they have been an excellent dealer. The truck? Fantastic, it has not missed a beat [though the sunroof sometimes takes 2-3 goes to shut itself] i love it. It is absolutely cr*p on fuel, but then you don't buy one of these for the mileage do you!!

Had same Navara as featured on BBC Watchdog, engine blew despite full service history and got no help from Nissan. Nissan customer service is terrible ... www.knackerednavara.com Having just bought new Ford Ranger no where I went to had a good word for the Navara pick up, most wouldn't buy them second hand.

    My car

I have the D22 version which was the subject of the recent Watchdog expose.Apart from the everyday threat that the engine could disintegrate(Nissan have eventually sent a letter saying what to do,but only once it has happened!),we now find that the nearside front drive-shaft has failed and the truck is undriveable.Nissan say that this is normal wear and tear but our truck has only done a paltry 49,000 miles. Our local Nissan dealership, which has also proved itself inept, has said it has never known a Nissan to fail so spectacularly at such a low mileage. Two independent garages have reinforced this view saying that it has to be a faulty part in the manufacture. When we eventually received a response from'Nissan customer services',which is probably the biggest misnomer in history, the initial sympathetic response was followed by an abrupt u-turn claiming this sort of problem should be expected.Well there you have it--the engine or drive shaft of these vehicles is not expected by its manufacturer to last beyond 49,000 miles........ I can only agree with an earlier posting that this vehicle,in particular, and Nissan in general should be totally avoided at all costs. I can assure you, you will regret it otherwise.
