Against The engine is flat if you let the revs drop below 1800rpm, and the 1.6 petrol version is much cheaper to buy. The price hike up from base Visia models is a big one.

Buyer's notes

Target Price team says:

The Qashqai+2 is well named, as it's certainly not a full seven-seater. The third row of seats is suitable only for short journeys because headroom is tight and you sit with your knees around your ears. To make matters worse, it’s almost as difficult to get to the rear seats as it is to get comfortable in them, but you do get a big boot when the seats are folded flat.

Although the +2 is only a little over 200mm longer than the standard car, there's not a huge amount of difference between how the two cars drive. However, there's enough difference in the size and weight that we prefer the diesel engines in this larger car, the 1.6 diesel being our favourite. Unless you really need a 4WD model, we'd advise against it, as these are slower and less economical than the 2WD models.
