I have now ovned the 1.5 DCI Tekna for nearly a month and love it. the driving position is really good and the diesel is a good little runner will happy go at 85mph on the motorway. The specification is great and is about the best you can get with the money. Kids love the sun roof and it make the whole car feel light and airy.
I picked up a pre- registered 1.6 petrol Tekna nigh over 12 months ago. I have to say it is a great family car, not too big & not too small...perfect for my small family with a good image too! My only gripe being is that the rear shocks need replacing, and whilst i am having this done under warranty, my local dealer advise me the parts are on back order due to a common problem with the model...they said they alone have been replacing on average 20 cars shocks per week!!! The problem is identifiable through a knocking noise to the rear of the car when you travel over even the slightest of bumps in the road and whilst the ride seems fine the noise is really annoying. Anyone else had the same problem? A worry i have is when my shocks are replaced my warranty may run out and i end up in the same situation a couple of years down the line - only with me having to foot the bill!
I got my new Qashqai in June. On Aug 14th some kids broke into it through the passenger window.
The Nissan dealership told me it would take 1 day to do the work needed. The latest firm delivery date I have for the parts (trim) to be able to start work on my car so I can get it back is 23rd September. My dealership is 21 miles from the plant where the car is made.
I am thinking of buying a 2.0 CVT Acenta and have had a test drive. I was very impressed except that I could hear a noise from the rear end of the demo car. On getting home I had a look at the Qashqai owners club forum and discovered that loads of people have had trouble with the rear shock absorbers. It is not clear whether Nissan have now overcome the problem but it will potentially put me off buying the car. I am surprised that I haven't seen this issue mentioned among the reviews on this site and wonder if anyone is aware of strange noises from the rear of their vehicle?
It also seems that the alliance with Renault is dragging down Nissan's reputation for reliability ?
