For The Myvi is attractive and affordable, has good space inside and comes with a decent level of equipment.

Against You can see where the pennies have been saved: the interior is drab, there's not much in the way of safety kit and refinement is poor.

Perodua Myvi Hatchback

2 out of 5 stars

The Myvi is a reasonable effort, but many other superminis are safer, more refined and perform better.

Perodua Myvi Hatchback 1.3 SXi 5dr

The point of a Perodua is value for money, so the cheapest model makes most sense. It's well equipped, and buying SE trim or the automatic 'box does nothing to improve it.

Buyer's notes

Target Price team says:

The Perodua Myvi immediately looks attractive thanks to its looks and its price, but don't go thinking that it's all the car you'll ever need for a bargain price. There are plenty of reasonas why it's so cheap.

Firstly, and most worryingly, there's a severe shortage of safety kit included. Twin front airbags are standard, but side and curtain airbags aren't, while stability control is nothing more than a pipe dream. The nervous handling poor refinement and tacky interior also help explain the Myvi's pricetag.
