For The 4007 has a smooth, flexible engine and it handles well. It's competitively equipped and roomy for five adults.

Against It's quite expensive, but the plastics aren't very classy and the third-row seats are cramped and uncomfortable.

The 4007 is a decent 'soft-roader', but there are cheaper and more practical alternatives on the market.

Peugeot 4007 4x4 2.2 HDi SE 5dr

Given that the 4007 is such an expensive car in the first place and that it's well equipped even in SE spec, there's no need to spend any more than on this basic SE model.

Buyer's notes

Target Price team says:

If you think the 4007 looks a little bit tame, you can smarten it up by specifying an Irmscher body styling kit that includes larger alloy wheels, body-coloured front and rear spoilers and twin exhausts. However, this is only available on the SE model.

Also, if you are tempted by the 4007, remember that the Citroen C-Crosser and Mitsubishi Outlander are essentially the same car, and you may be able to find a better deal on one of them. The Outlander range also offers a front-wheel drive version, which will be cheaper to run.
