For The Boxster is beautiful to look at, suitably epic to drive, and makes a good ownership proposition
Against It’s expensive to buy, and could do with a bit more standard kit
Even this entry-level Boxster is fast enough to keep you giggling. A truly superb car.
The optional PDK semi-automatic gearbox is well worth consideration, because not only does it make you feel like a racing driver when you’re going for it, but it also greatly increases the Porsche Boxster’s efficiency. It cuts the standard car’s emissions from 192g/km to 180, which drops it down a couple of company car tax bands. Fuel economy jumps from 34.5mpg to 36.7. The difference is even more marked in the Boxster S: it’s emissions drop from 206g/km to 188, and economy goes up from 32.1mpg to 35.3.
Whichever version of the Boxster you go for, you'll get a truly sensational car. However, we'd stick with the standard 2.7 model. It's cheaper to buy and run than the S, and although it's slower, it's still very, very fast.
A massive improvement on the last Boxtster (which is still fantastic and I said I would never sell mine). Close your eyes, put your foot down and you…
