I’ve had this for six months and I’m struggling to find anything negative about it. In short, it does what I bought it to do.
It’s comfortable, versatile, nippy enough and frugal: although not quite as frugal as the official figures, it will better 60 mpg on a run. SE trim gives me all I need.
Its only visit to the garage was a result of a faulty exhaust temperature sensor, which was replaced efficiently.
So far, Skoda make happy driver.
I thought id give an update on my previous review in 2009. We have now covered just over 77K and the car is now just over 2 years old, and yes its still brilliant and hasnt missed a beat! If anything the fuel economy has improved slightly and i now seem to be averaging around 67 mpg on a good motorway run. The speed is effortless at motorway speeds too and i could'nt praise the greenline model enough which just seems to cover massive distances with ease. The dealer service is brilliant and so far there has only been one fault which was the aux socket connection situated by the handbrake which has stopped working due to me splling coffee on it!! oh and it was fixed within 20 mins at dealer!!
I purchased this car around August 2008 and have now completed 27k miles (as of the 05/07/10). I went into the showroom with a rough specification of needing something reliable, a car to go up and down the county, very cheap running costs, and bags of room. This has ticked all the box's. It is a pretty ugly car depending on which angle you look at, what it looses in beauty it easily makes up in practicality. I get roughly 100miles for £10 and a tank does around 410 if I drive like a normal person (I have three modes of driving Old man, Normal, and heavy footed). The interior uses a lot of plastic which for me makes it very easy to maintain. The driving position and handling are spot on, and the performance is more than adequate. Within the 27k miles I have not had a single problem with the car or the service I have received from, the dealership (D M Keith Leeds). I am about to trade the car in as my driving is increasing in distance and I feel a change. I will be purchasing another Skoda. I have previously driven the following full time cars (Cars I used for over 8 months ) - Golf, Passat, Vectra, signum, Mondeo, and Octavia. Hope this goes towards helping make the right choice.
After 5000 miles of ownership, I now feel confident this is the most complete car I have owned. Admittedly its not the trendiest or most expensive car I have had, but it is the best. It is comfortable, usefully nippy, good handling, solid, reliable, cheap to run and swallows masses of gear in the large boot. I'm so glad I passed the badge snobbery as otherwise I would have missed out on this bargain and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
I have the standard take up model which I love as I'm 18 with a brand new car. This car is perfect in many ways as I can afford it by only working…
I bought this car a year ago after watching the video on here, and reading a few reviews on the car. My wife really liked the car so we bought it.…
