Previously commented Feb 2010 when I had 1.9TDI S estate for a couple of months (rental car). Just had the replacement car, the 1.6TDI CR S estate for 2k miles, whilst waiting for my Golf estate. Once again, blown away by the Octavia. Just a brilliant car for the money. Its a proper, large estate car (unlike Volvo V50, or Focus estate etc). Equipment is limited, but enough, given it was an S spec car and quality is great - its not flash, but definitely durable. Engine is brilliant - I've had everything from this 105bhp diesel to 206bhp diesels - and this little 1.6d is the most flexible and easiest to use (albeit not the quickest). Such an easy, straightforward, everyday car, with an easy 50+mpg. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Would have had this rather than my Golf estate, except the Golf leasing costs were so much cheaper? Shame.
