We took delivery of the new car on March 1st 2011 and after having a Skoda tow hitch fitted paid £14300. I bought a single axle sheeo trailer and after 1700 miles achieved 41 mpg. I like the Cruise Control and general layout of the dashboard. The Media system and central armrest console. We had imitation wood fitted and had a rear boot mat, floor mats and protective door sills fitted and extra front mud flaps. All this is included in the price above. The reverse parking sensors and quietness of the petrol engine are a big improvement on my last diesel Octavia. We like the Rosso Brunello and get comments from admirers on the colour. I recommend the Skoda. Its not a Jap or a German car but designed and built by our Czech friends. I understand that a new Octavia is due to come out in a couple of years and understand that it will be wider and ? longer ? More like the Suberb ? No NO - please don't change the basic size of the current Skoda - Its big enough - Listed as a "Small Family car" is a misnomer - It quite big enough for a family of 4 with an enormous boot and the 1.4 TSI is a man enough engine for my trailer and load. Highly recommended.
I have owned a 1.4tsi petrol for 2 years, and am VERY satisfied. Get past the utilitarian looks, and it lives up to its name as the best small family…
Being a mum of two who has had 3 X5's the last being a very nice 40d M Sport, the decision to go to a smaller car was one which did fill me with dread…
