    My car

We bought an Alto 1.0SZ4, going from a previous generation Alto 1.1GL. The new Alto is a far superior car - it's far more spacious, with generous head and legroom, and a far more sophisticated exterior and interior design. Granted, it's going on for twice the price that the old Alto was when new, but the old Alto always felt like a cheap car, whereas the new Alto just doesn't

We needed a small 5-door car which was cheap to run (ours averages 50+ MPG), insure and tax (£20 p.a!). We were also looking for some toys - namely remote locking, front fogs, alloys, MP3 player, and air-con where possible - the Alto was the only car available from our local dealers which could give all of these within our budget.

On the open road, you don't feel like you are driving a small 1-litre, 67bhp city car. It is even composed on the motorway, not too noisy (just over 3,000rpm for 70MPH), and it feels well planted at motorway speed. Overtaking is even easy, drop to 3rd gear and floor it and the alto takes off like something much bigger. Cornering is a dream, the alto grips the road very well with very little body roll despite it's relative height

Interior is very well laid out. The plastics are a little cheap, but they're well screwed together. Only downsides inside are the lack of glovebox, the driver hasn't got a switch for the passenger window, and electric mirrors would be nice. But it's comfortable, both seat and steering wheel adjust perfectly.

Overall a great, fun little car

    My car

This is an excellent car that does everything really well for very little money. The model I bought comes with all the equipment I will ever need (air con, MP3 audio, electric windows, front fogs etc). It has 5 doors, does 60+ mpg, but it also drives surprisingly well (in town and on the motorway). The suspension setup is perfectly balanced and with better-than-you-expect grip and decent braking power you can have a bit of fun on the back roads too. Road tax is only £20 a year.

Instead of just being a good citycar I actually think its a great everyday use car. All this for under 6 grand. I feel like I have robbed Suzuki.

    A great car.
