Follow up report. Now with 95600miles on my 1.9ddis october 2007 57 plate. What can i say it just gets better. Nearly 100,000 miles and not missed a beat. toal reliability. Does as it says on the tin. Far better than oposition - LR, Honda, Toyotai, izuzu kia, hyundai, wouldn't even consider vauxhall or vw not in same class. THis beast beats them all. Fuel consumption is 38 even as though it is pushed hard all the time. Still as tight as new.
Suzuki Grand Vitara 4x4 2.0 16v X-EC 5dr auto S PACK I like its looks and exclusivity but the petrol bill is a downer. Only been able to average 24.2 at best and that's by not exceeding 60mph on the motorway city running is worse. It is a proper midi offroader; unlike those swollen hatchbacks parading as 4x4s. Summery 1. Good load size 2. Rugged 3. Exclusive 4. Non pretenious 5. Reliable but not cheap to fuel and auto box not as refined as would like, probably an extra gear to reduce revs would help with frugality or one of those double clutch doohickeys.
I got a new SZ5 in March after looking at other makes. My Suzuki is just fantastic value for money for under £20K with everything and more that others charge very large sums for.I have full leather, HD headlights, heated seats, full auto AC, headlamp washers, full 4WD, sunroof, tinted windows etc, etc. The driving postion and comfort is just superb with nice height for me at 6ft tall. The side opening rear door is in fact a bonus and one reason I bought the car. I load things on the roof rack so I can open the rear door without worrying first whether the load will impede an upward opening door, so I know mine never will. The rear mounted spare wheel is good to deter bumper huggers and it looks good too. I get 29.5 mpg on urban motoring which is very good for a true four wheel drive plus I do use it on farm tracks once or twice a week where I have every confidence in its ability to get where I want. My car has ben much admired, especcially when I quote the price I paid. The ride can be a little hard on some of the poor roads we have nowadays but that is a price I am prepared to pay for a true 4x4 vehicle.
Just a follow up report. GV now 29 months and 58000 miles covered. It just gets better. It does as it says on the box. Ok maybe not as smooth as a Honda, Toyota, Land Rover etc but give it its head and it beats them hands down. Whether on the road, lanes or the full monty the GV will leave them all in its dust. Cant understand all the so called pro journalist hacks low ratings, maybe its because it cannot reach 100mph in 1 second or burn rubber. This is my second new shape GV. Pxd the last one after 18 months and 33000 trouble free miles. Would like to upgrade to SZ5 ddis.
Just picked the car up several weeks ago and have done 1000 miles plus on a mixture of local and longer motorway journies, with one foray into the…
I've had the SDV6 XS for just over a week and cranked out a 100 miles per day since I've had it. I had a 2009 Disco 4 XS before that. Sadly I sold…
