The 2 litre diesel is great round town - pulling strongly away at roundabouts. The cabin is comfortable and well laid out - I've had the car for 1500 miles. This latest model has disk breaks all round, and is averaging over 50 mpg - mainly urban driving. Cruises easily at 70 on the motorway - just set the cruise control and relax. Driving position is a little higher than an ordinary hatchback, so you see things you didn't know were there! I'm looking forward to winter to try out the 4 wheel drive.
I bought the Aerio model in June 2010, and so far there have been no major problems. There was an intermittent problem with the central locking opening all doors when the ignition was turned, but that was 3 months ago. Performance: The 1.6 petrol is capable and can easily overtake. If you live in hilly areas, it will struggle A LOT if the car is full! Consider the diesel. I can't say road noise or engine noise was particularly bad. The radio/CD easily cancelled out the noise and still allowed passengers to talk easily. Ride and Handling: Fine. One front passenger felt a little 'perched', but the driver has adjustable seating, so I was alright :-) Space and Practicality: The boot space is about right for a weeks grocery shopping, and the removable shelf is a great idea. As for the seats... still need major improving. Coverings are of the cloth variety which has begun to ruffle slighlty and not stretch back into place, although they are perfectly comfortable and I do a lot of driving in it - upto 45 mins at a time. Centre console needs to be higher. Equipment: The CD player has performed perfectly well, playing MP3s and WMA CD's without complaint. It has never skipped either. Standard radio has been good too. Initially, I thought the washer jets were good with their 3 point jet on each, but at 70mph, the water is largely sprayed anywhere but the windscreen! The motor needs more ooomph! MPG was as described... 45 which is ok, but I think 55 should be the norm today.
I got this car in September after having a Peugeot 307cc. So far I cannot fault it, it is currently winter and snowing very heavily in Yorkshire but this car has not let me down once. I also went to Warwick over the weekend and it drove through at least 10 inches of snow without so much of a splutter. I feel really safe driving this car. I initially set out to get a Qashqai but when I saw this I was really interested. You don't see many around either so it is nice to own a car that is a bit different. I am currently getting a good 54mpg and I do a lot of motorway driving. I was cautious about getting a Suzuki at first having had peugeot and ford for so long but when I come to change I will look for a newer model of this again. The cabin is a bit basic compared to some cars but it has a cd player, air con, electric windows and trip computer - what else do you need? The reality is that in Summer it may not be as flash as some cars but for the 4 months or so of winter we get in more remote areas you couldn't ask for a better or more reliable car and it is those months when you realise just what a fantastic buy it is because those are the really testing times for any car. I really recommend a test drive of this for anyone looking at a crossover model. Also, the boot is roomy enough for my dalmatian and I can get 3 adults in it no worries. I can't speak more highly of this car.........
We have had this car for 2 weeks now and so far so good. The ride is comfortable and smooth enough round town and the 120 bhp engine has enough power for overtaking on the motorway. We have only done 350 miles in the car but we are hoping that mpg improves as the engine loosens up but we are averaging 37 mpg with mostly town driving.
Just picked the car up several weeks ago and have done 1000 miles plus on a mixture of local and longer motorway journies, with one foray into the…
I've had the SDV6 XS for just over a week and cranked out a 100 miles per day since I've had it. I had a 2009 Disco 4 XS before that. Sadly I sold…
