For This top-spec Land Cruiser comes with everything you could want, including more sophisticated suspension and off-road features than cheaper models.
Against This is a lot to pay for a Land Cruiser and many rivals at this price have more power and a swankier interior.
It's hard not to be impressed by the amount of luxury and off-road kit this Land Cruiser provides, but it's not as well rounded as many rivals at this elevated price.
The Toyota Land Cruiser isn't as plush or sporty as some 4x4s, but in terms of ruggedness and dependability, it has few peers.
That's not to say that it's uncivilised. Far from it – it's refined and, in top-spec trim, stuffed full of high-tech kit. We reckon it works best as the entry-level LC3 model, though, because it keeps the price low, has the same 3.0-litre diesel engine as the rest of the range and is still formidable in the rough.
You could see LC4 trim as a good compromise, but there's a massive jump in price over LC3.
