when we first bought this car in june 2006 we got off to quite a disapointing start, we used to own a volkswagon passat 03 and we found the ride in the audi very firm comparitivley which over time we have got used to. but with in the week our first mechanical problem arose when i was drivin on spaghetti junction and the engine literally cut. fortunatley it was under warrenty and was fixed for free. The next i have found parts of the interior that feel very flimsy and brittle paticularly on the drivers side where we have heard rattles which seem to plague the cabin, lastly one of the rear electric windows is getting slow, not sure if this is down to age as it is now over 3 years old, but from a company like audi who are known for interior quality it is very dissapointing and really rather dull compared to a 3 series,
the driving experience is by no mean a bad one but when keenly driving on the twisty b roads i have found the handling rather stodgy and the stearing is to short of feel for my liking.
the engine (after fixed) we have found to be very reliable, and kicks out more than enough torque for us and plenty of power with 197 bhp
to sum up i found the A4 very disapointing, in regards to reliablilty, quality, and drive, which german manufacturers are renound for
Well, I suppose you dont buy an Audi because you're an interesting, sophisticated person. So you cannot expect any more from the cars. BORING
My BMW went in for repair and was unfortunate to get an Audi A4. The car is noisy, slow and has a very small fuel tank for the size of the car. Was outraged that the car did not come with an armrest. The interior is very cheep. Audi continue to be in the shadow if BMW. My 3 series is 100 time better than the A4. The Audi is a nice looking car. I would say it is better looking than the BMW 3 series. however looks are not everything. Overall rating is pay a little more and get the BMW. The Audi is rubbish.
I have driven my 07 A4 Avant for 6 Months now and have clocked up 18,000 miles.I am extreemly impressed with its performance and poise on the road. As far as Good points go i would note; Performance, Looks, (Fantastic in black but needs religious cleaning to maintain the shine), handling, comfort, practicality (Boot is not that big to be honest and rear leg room isn't great but both are adequet for its class)
Now to the Bad bits; It certainly burns oil (around a litre every 4,000 miles or so....very strange for such a modern car), the Bose Symphony Hi-Fi,(this was an expensive optional extra and promptly broke after only 6 weeks. It took Audi 8 weeks and several snotty emails to replace it), Wind noise (the cabin suffers from more wind noise than i would have expected on a vehicle of this type...thank goodness for the Hi-Fi?). Then there are a couple of niggly bits such as a vibration on the steering when manouvering at low speed and finally the control button for the door mirrors has broken off.
On the whole i would certainly recommend the A4 TDI 140 and would definatly have another (maybe the boss will let me get the 170 next time???)

I've had 6 VWs now including this one and it is a mixed bag. In no particular order the economy is poor despite the FSI badging and in town never…
Why is there so much whining about the rear sets? It's small - it's called a "mini" (hint). It didn't get any smaller after you bought it, so deal…
