A well built but unimaginative car. It lacks as standard equipment which my previous Passat SEL had as standard, ie chill box glove compartment and lumbar adjustment for seats as a result long journeys are uncomfortable due to poor seats and harsh ride.
The car's greatest weaknesses are the Audi dealer who lost interest once they were paid. The same engine in the Passat saloon averaged 50mpg the Audi averages 35mpg. Initially the Audi was significantly quieter but after 3 months and 4800 miles it is as noisy outside and only marginally quieter inside despite being 4 years newer than the Passat.
Overall my experience to date would discourage me from purchasing another Audi.
Excellent vehicle for long journeys at high speed. Comfortable, quiet and relaxed with reserves of power.
This is the third S6 I have owned, all have been totally reliable and have been used for high-speed continental travel. Less "fidgety" and more relaxing than the BMW equivalents.
I love this car. However, there is some sort of electrical fault which is difficult to locate.
Living in Brunei Darussalam complicates matters because the Audi dealership still does not seem as experienced as I would like in maintenance and repairs.
It's been off the road for the last 2 months due to the mechanic's seeming inability to locate the problem. HELP!!
