My Dad bought this car three years ago with about 56,000 miles on the clock - it was a 1999 model. He thought he would have a change from a Vauxhall Zafira.
It was such a comfortable drive, much better than the Vauxhall and a lot more economical as well. There has been nothing worng with it until a couple of months ago when the airbag warning light came on when someone went into the side of him but stayed on.
He has done about 98,000 miles in it now. He does a lot of miles in a week and it's still going, but you can still notice that it's starting to get on now. However, for a seven-year-old car that done about 30,000 miles in three years, it is excellent and the power is excellent, too - it's very fast for a 1.8.
Overall, we're very happy with the car and hopefully he might get a BMW 320d next time. Stay with BMW because we're very happy with them.
I have had my 330i SE for seven months now and I love it. I used to have a 320D but decided to get a 330i SE for a change and a bit more power.
It's a little high on the fuel consumption but if you drive it normally then you do get a good/average mpg.
For long journeys you couldn't get anything better: it's very easy to drive, solid on the road and has excellent build quality, as you'd expect from BMW.
I got this car about a year ago. It is a '97 323i se. It had 60,000 miles on teh clock then, but it's still a very good car.
Everything still works now. The car has a great engine that remains in very good condition. I did add an induction kit - and it sounds fantastic.
The six-cylinder BMW is the best one to get.
Unfortunately whilst this car is fun to drive and economical it doesn't live up to the quality standards that BMW would have you believe they work to.
At 37k the turbo failed, at 55k the fuel injectors needed replacing, at 83k the front wishbone rear bushes failed, at 99k the pre supply pump failed, at 128k the rear springs had to be replaced as one had broken and at 133k the inlet manifold swirl flap broke went into the engine and wrote it off!! Whilst BMW replaced a number of these items under warranty the engine they would not!!
I'm afraid I would never buy a BMW again - overpriced and just not up to the job!!

Had this car for 90k from new. A 56 plate. In over 2,000,000 miles driven this one has broken down the most of any car I have had. DO NOT get a 2.0…
