I chose this car as an opt out of the company car scheme having previously had a Golf GT TDI and before that an Accord iCDTI. I got the car last November and having read some of the reviews was a little concerned. My concern has now evapourated and I can say that this is the best carI have driven in terms of handling, ride and refinement. The engine is not as "torqe-y" (if such an expression exists) as the TDi at low revs but it makes up for it at top end performance. The tramlining does occur but I got that on the Golf and Accord - it is a feature of the motorways we have to drive on these days - and the effects are minimal anyway. The car looks great; it regularly get comments on how nice it is and the fuel economy is just about as BMW stipulate - those who can't get 50mpg on a motorway with this car aren't trying hard enough. A recent trip from Bridgend to Nottingham yielded 52.8 mpg and I drove it as I would usually do. The average mpg taking into account motorway and then town driving to work is around 39. I would recommend this car to anyone who is looking for a tax efficient alternative ot a company vehicle.
