    My car

After driving Toyotas and Fords for several years as company cars, I wanted a change. The base model BMW was a similar price to Mondeo, Insignia etc so I ordered it. I was concerned that being the base model it would be very low on equipment, but i need'nt have worried, apart from a handful of cosmetics it was pretty much the same as the SE model, the only main difference was cruise control, which I managed to negotiate as an option for free. The facelifted stylign also makes it look more agressive and stylish than the original. The ride and handling are in a different league to my previous cars, sure the run flats can be noisy in places but the safety peace of mind (especially when the mrs is driving it with the kids in) far outweights this. The 2.0 petrol engine is plenty to have some fun with (0-60 in 9secs), while it still gets 40mpg and is only £113 a month in comp car tax (40%). Space wise its more than enough to house a family of 4 with luggage for a weekend, if you do more than this i.e. camping, you will need a touring. Really happy with the choice, if you want soemthing a bit more exiting than a mondeo or similar, but not with a huge price tag - this is it.

    My car

Theis car is the facelifted model Sept 2008. Have had MB cars for the last 14 years but decided to try BMW. The ride is very poor with the run flat tyres exgerated by 17 inch wheels they were 16 inch until the facelift. Have had the car back to dealer who tells me it is as it 'should' be. Fuel consumption is also dissapointing, it may improve, time will tell. In addition the car is like a poor mans version of MB things like the cruise control only keeps the car upto a speed and does not slow you to the speed downhill. We noticed the needto pay extra for auto lights, folding mirrors and wipers. In this day and age an extra say £300 on the basic price would take account of such items.

    My car

The handling of the car on smooth roads was great however, introduce a few bumps and it was a different story.During my time of ownership the car had numerous faults 1 New Turbo 2 Front and rear suspension bushes 3 Sticking door handles 4 Padding in driver seat replaced twice 5 Miss fire about 1900rpm 6 Leather on both front seats stretched and worn which BMW REFUSED to replace or repair under warranty. 33000 miles by this time but the seats looked as if they had done 133000 miles.7 pieces of the door trim pealing off at the door and the handle.8 Paint on the car is very brittle and thin and was covered in stone chips. The run flat tyres were a nightmare. Several garages refused to touch them as fitting/removal of the tyres, even with the correct equipment was resulting in the alloy wheels being cracked. This is a problem I also encountered and have heard of several other reports of the same thing happening to other 3 series. Weak wheels ? No spare wheel?Cracked alloy equals car off the road for two days until a new alloy wheel obtained from BMW. Why o why does the car come not only without a spare wheel but without any space in the floor well of the boot to fit one! The customer service from both BMW UK and the dealer) was a joke. Dealer even managed to dent one of my doors when to car was at their premises. They did after THREE attempts repair the damage. I have now thankfully sold the car and dont envisage ever owning another 3 series.

the ew 3 series 2009 e90... recently i drove 32oi se 4 door... on the road it is so isolated car and you can"t hear wind or anybody talk to you from outside the car when you are closing all doors and windows, the ride is so firm on 32oi m,but very comfortable in se addition specially in 16 wheels(205/55 r16),the car is so expensive and performance is amazing.. And as many reviews and test drives the new 3 series 2009 is the better compact car in thw worl, 2th A4,3TH c-class... it"s so practical cr and you can park it wherever you want... so,don"t hesitate it is your dream car...
