i have owned this car for 9 months now and i have been extremely let down by the recent snow .this car has done 12000 miles and is efficient dynamics model on 57 plate with auto box and 19 inch alloys and it will just about climb a gentle hill under snow conditions with dtc activated.i understand its arear wheel drive and low profile tyres but i was expecting not to be overtaken on snow covered hill roads by all and sundry while i was literally crabbing up the the hill at 5 mph with prayers on my wifes lips.
I spent the best part of 4 months reading up on my next potential car. It was a choice between several varieties: X5, XC90, E-Class and the 5-Series. I was driving a 320d and with 2 small kids it was proving to be a real pain in terms of luggage capacity on our bi-monthly trips to London. We needed to upgrade ideally to an SUV, but after reading the reviews on the X5, I thought I'd steer well clear of that potential disaster and also had to take the possibility of a hike in Road Tax into consideration too. I test drove the E320 CDi and the best word to describe that is dull.
In the end we plumped for a 530d SE and tbh I've not looked back - absolutely LOVE this car! I expected the drive to slightly better than the 320d, but in reality it was oceans apart, the handling and feel of the car is immense. You feel like other drivers on the road should be parting like the Red Sea for you, it's THAT good! The economy was never going to be as good as the 320d, but you have to consider what you're getting in terms of a total package. On the motorway it's not far off a 320d if I'm honest, the power is incredible when you need to utilise it and the road handling at speed is again unparalleled. I've yet to drive a car that comes close to this.

Superb Car, tyres wear out quickly, (25K), needs automatic gearbox as easy to stall with manual and start/stop button very frustrating
Excellent fuel economy considering the size of the car
Overall a very enjoyable car
I ve owned a 525i in the past 6 months. Bought from approved used BMW dealer. The 525i has a beautiful 6cyl. engine, which can waft around OR be driven sportingly. The ride, comfort and handling is good. But, the particular BMW, i had, fell fowl of an electrical gremlin - that BMW dealer(s) were unable to resolve (It brokedown 6 times in 7 weeks for the same fault). I had to "reject" the car and get a refund of the initial purchase price. At prsent, i am trying to decide whether to buy another BMW 525i OR a more reliable brand - i,e Lexus GS300 ???
Order a brochure, find your nearest dealer or book a test drive
I've had 6 VWs now including this one and it is a mixed bag. In no particular order the economy is poor despite the FSI badging and in town never…
Why is there so much whining about the rear sets? It's small - it's called a "mini" (hint). It didn't get any smaller after you bought it, so deal…
