    My car

PT Cruisers are like VW Beetles - fellow PT Cruiser drivers are likely to wave/flash their lights at you when passing! People also come up to you in car parks and filling stations and ask about the car. It still turns heads as you drive along - which shows how much impact the car's design has. I've had mine (Y/2001 2.0L petrol Touring) for 4 years. Bought it with 42k miles and now has 98k miles, so time to change. I've enjoyed having this car and it has NEVER given me any problems nor broken down. It is extremely comfortable - like driving whilst sitting in an armchair. It has a CD/radio/cassette, handy storage drawer under the passenger seat, plus alloy wheels, ABS and traction control, aircon, cruise-control, electric windows, electric folding wing mirrors, electrically adjustable driver's seat with arm-rest and three 12v power supplies. And a rear parcel that could be used as a table!

Performance was a bit sluggish, especially for overtaking. Parts were a little more expensive than normal, but the only parts I had to buy were normal wear and tear. There was no wear on the seat material, gear-knob, door handles, etc. despite nearly 100k miles and carrying a small child.

    Great fun - recommended.

    My car

I have had my PT for 10 months and it began squealing really bad in the wheel well area. I took it to the dealer since I have the extended warranty on this brand new PT. The service manager heard the noise but said it was in the engine compartment. They kept the car overnight and supposedly fixed the problem. I got the car back but it was louder then before. As I accelerate it gets louder. When I took it back they said they couldn't hear it. He proceeded to tell me that ALL cars make a loud squealing sound in the tire well when accelerated. Yea right!! I took my father in law the third time and wow they heard the noise and said they would fix it. Well, 2 days later when I got the car back it was still there. I took it back a 4th time and the GM and the service manager said that it was my problem that it wasn't a safety issue. I asked him if he knew exactly what the problem was and he said, "NO!" Then how could he know if it was a safety issue if he didn't even know what the problem was. So now when I'm driving down the street people can hear me screeching my way down the street. Oh BTW, they told me that this year (2008) will be the last year they make PT Cruisers because they have nothing but problems with them. BEWARE

    My car

I've just written off my beloved 2.0 Classic (owned for last six years) following a head on collision with combined speed of 120mph!! Thanks to the cruiser I only suffered shoulder & hand injuries. Thus the PT is highly recommended - it's solid, built like a tank, easy to drive with all the mod cons. It will be sadly missed.

    My car

May be this is an odd review but we owned our pt for nine months 53 plate 2.2TD classic had no problems with the car plesure to drive quite a powerful engine although other diesels have more grunt in that range like the vw gulf for instance its only let down realy was it did not corner very well but being a american what do i exspect (it would tend to get body roll alot in a fast tranfering corners) but the main thing i would commend chrysler for was; and i will get to it. My wife was coming home from work going 30 mph in a S bend and was hit by a honda accord estate 55 plate head on doing at least 40 mph it happend so fast she did not even have time to brake! but she walked away with only wip lash and a few bruises the pt cuiser was hit with a combined speed of over 70 mph and the car held together very well although the car was a total loss my wife was ok so i would commend them on makeing a strough safe car that in my opinion looks good as well. i will be getting anouther one but i must say i dont like the face lift interior ( to much plastic ) and running costs are ok insuance you should ring around as its not that cheap group 12 and go for the diesel better mpg and its easy to service your self if your in to that. cheers. Ben
