Update from my last review!!! car has been written off due to fire damaged cause from fuse box I now have a lovely mini convertible which I absolutely love......
I bought this car for my wife almost a year ago, and she uses it entirely to potter around town in. Therefore, the fuel consumption is quite poor (about 30mpg).
However, there is plenty to like about this car - it's really quick (particularly acceleration from rest), is easy to drive and park and can easily cope with 2 children and shopping in the back.
The usual gripes that other reviewers have mentioned do detract slightly from the overall enjoyment (jerky gearchanges at times, no air-con, poor quality plastics, tinny feel), but as a town car not having to use a clutch to change gear is a boon. Insurance is cheap (even for this warm version), running costs are low (servicing doesn't cost a lot), and it cost me less than £5k for a 54 plate with 19,000 miles on the clock.
If you go into a C2 purchase with your eyes open to the little foibles then you'll end up feeling positive about the ownership experience of this funkly little car.
im a motor dealer .i bought this c2 vts in august.but i wont sell it .i also have a porsche boxster2004.i prefer to drive my c2.what a fun car .its finished in diablo red .it turns heads with its looks .the big citroen alloys set it off.its nippy and gives me around 39 mpg even when i drive it hard .forget your clios ,fiestas, etc .low group insurance to.ps...i wont be selling it either.
Lets be honest. Its not a Mini or a Honda Jazz. Its a Citroen. Its cheap, some of the parts are so thin they are almost transparent, it rattles, it breaks down, bits fall off. Your new best friend will work at the repairs department at the local dealer. On the other hand, it looks great and is fun to drive. Its quirky and makes you smile. If you want dull reliability buy a Jazz. If you want a car you enjoy, and makes you feel 18 again, get a C2. I've had mine for four years, and still love it, warts and all.
