I have recently had the chance to drive a Citroen C2 Airplay+ with bright yellow paintwork! The C2 features a fully adjustable steering wheel so for someone like me over 6ft tall, getting the right driving position was easy as pie! The engine itself was a 1.1 and it was surprisingly quiet - but boy was in underpowered; you put your foot down and the engine will take a Huge amount of time to finally build up speed, catching me out on a couple occasions!! The engine needs to be rev'd higher than usual if you need to pick up the pace, but for pottering around it was fine...you're not in a rush, even if you are! The Airplay+ features Lime Green covers around the air vents and I wasn't too sure if I liked those or not - personal taste at the end of the day. The Rear Seats are definitely for small people; someone like me would be doomed!! The seats were quite relaxing to sit in, electic mirrors also make it a doddle to see down the side of your car.
A jolly nice 2 hours...but the 1.1 is best suited to L-drivers and city dwellers - anything else and you'll be left in the Crawler Lane!
I purchased this car from in December 2005. It was an ex-demo 05 plate. I had no bother until October 06 - up until April 07 it was in the garage for one week out of every four. It was losing power, warning lights were coming on, it had squeaky brakes - you name it, I've got it!
The garage have fixed it every time, given me a courtesy car every time but have never once offered any compensation! I wrote to Citroen UK, but they don't care. I wrote to the Sunday Post newspaper - they contacted the garage and were told the garage were waiting to talk to me! That was the first I knew about it - just can't wait to go to the garage to be told once again I'm getting nothing from them, but I'll go and fight them for it!
Just to let you all know, if I get no satisfaction from them I am going to Watchdog next... perhaps if they get several complaints about these dodgy cars they will do something. I already know three people that have the same problems as me.
I should also mention that I requested a vehicle history from the garage, only to discover it had almost £1100 worth of bodywork done before i bought it - cause of my problems? Who knows, it's probably a rubbish car anyway!
Don't buy one! Buy a 25-year old Fiesta, surely it'd run better!
After searching for a while to find the right car I opted for this. It was a toss-up between a Mini or a Citroen. I have to say after driving and owning many cars this is the worst car ever.
The exterior of the car is 'pleasant' to look at. However inside the car it is cheap, very cramped in the back and has a loud interior. The car is not economical; I had a BMW 318ci before which was better than this.
The sensodrive gearbox is not much better. When in auto it seems to have difficulties on selecting which gear to be in, resulting in near misses with other cars and making myself look like I cannot drive. When I use the paddle-shifts I click away and still the gears do not change!
I have recently noticed that when I put my foot down on the accelerator it does not move until it is ready to do, again being a hazard to myself and other drivers. I would not advise doing a three-point turn in the middle of the road the gearbox doesn't like reverse much either!
Citroen garages have been no help at all, after two costly visits my car still drives like it is about to pack up and Im still none the wiser.
The car was recently driven into. I was pleased to see the car go, for two weeks! I would advise anyone of any age looking to buy this car not to. It is a costly small car, an embarrassment and a hazard.
i have just traded in my C2 it had expired in warranty by 8 weeks and the sensodrive had packed in the garage quoted over £700 to repair no help was given by Citreon UK This fault had been coming for a while i think as i had trouble every day for a few weeks with the engine light coming on and off, i also had the same difficulty as many reports of the delay when using the accelorator sometimes by as much as 4 seconds at roundabouts i have had near misses!! i really loved my saxo i had before this car and rate that higher.
Order a brochure, find your nearest dealer or book a test drive
I have owned this car for almost 2 years, bought from a used dealer with 60k on and later found it was a ex rental car.... the insurance was cheap…
Ive had this car for one year now and so far has exeeded my expectations. The car is great at overtaking lorries on the motorway and handles very…
