My car is the 1.6 HDI VTR+ EGS.I was told by the dealer when i collected the car that the £500 comfort pack option had been included on my car at no extra cost to me, so i was well chuffed. Ive had the car over 2 weeks now and i think its the best car ive owned so far. The engine is quiet and very responsive, the ride is very smooth it almost feels like you are gliding along and the Visio space window screen is brilliant you see everything in front of you. I disagree with the comments made about the EGS system i find it fine for day to day driving, if you do want to race around a bit then go manual and the gear changes are very quick and smooth.
I only took delivery of this car in late-April, but my initial feedback is largely positive. The cabin is practical and spacious, the ride is comfortable and refined, and viusally the car looks impressive - a marked improvement on anything else in this class. I'd recommend upgrading to at least the VTR+ model in order to get decent levels of equipment, although even then it's a shame the alarm, MP3 stereo and climate control are only reserved for the Exclusive model. All this comes as standard on many other new cars these days? My only other criticisms are that the drive isn't that engaging, and I'm a little concerned the electronic fuel gauge is dipping all too quickly - although maybe that's me being a bit too heavy on the gas in order to exert a bit more feedback. It's early days, but so far so good!
I have experienced many difficulties and poor build quality that would lead me to purchase any other manufacturer's car before returning to Citroen again. These include:- 1 Poor handover from the sales department - No proper handover and without the operation manual. 2 Sold with “Bluetooth” technology – doesn’t work with the “Navidrive” system. 3 The driver’s door was “binding” against the front wing - a production fault. 4 A damaged rear screen was able to be fixed due to a lack of space parts in England - taking almost two months "off the road". 5 Lack of dealer response - Eight telephone calls made none were returned. 6 Air conditioning gets “stuck” and requires “reconfiguration” of the controls by disconnection of the battery 7 DVD screen doesn’t show a picture in cold weather 8 CD multiplayer switches to the radio wihtout prompt 9 Poorly fitted interior trim 10 The rear door "binds” against the vehicle frame
As somebody who purchases a new car approximately every eighteen months; who currently has four vehicles on the road; who has been a previously happy customer; and who is used to operating within a service industry; I feel a huge disappointment with the level of service not to mention the inadequate and poor quality of car produced.
Just recently taken delivery of 1.6 HDI VTR+ EGS, fantastic to drive, quite wary before I bought about the 1.6 engine, but the 110bhp gives more than enough power,the gear changes are very smooth, with the option of using the manual if you think the auto would be too slow (not found this though)the digtal display including the vast amount of digital information available on the centre console is great, lots of thought has been put into this vehicle, lots of nice touches. The only negative point I can give is the fact that there is slight reflection of the dash onto the inside of the windscreen, but nothing too much and I am almost not aware of it now, the vast windscreen is superb, it takes a little while to adjust to the space and light! Very pleased and would highly recommend.
