    My car

Gor this vehicle on Motability after 3 years with Zafira. The diesel engine is superb, very refined and quiet. Car is spacious and easy to drive and those electric slidn doors are no gimmick - they are extremely useful. Very well specified - yu basically geta lot for your money.

NEGATIVES: The car has been recalled 3-4 times for safety checks (annoying but dealership helpful). One slight problem with air pollution pump which was replaced by dealer. Those headlamp bulbs are hugely expensive to replace - was quoted over £250 to replace and fit but it was done under warranty.

I would imagine Citroen would have ironed out some of the problems by now. Overall, I belive you get a lot of car for the money. Does not drive as well as a Ford galaxy but much quieter than its diesel equivalent.

    My car

I have had this car for nearly three years now and have driven 32,000 miles. I have four children, hence the need for a car this size. I have had a number of full size MPVs over the years and this is by far the best.

The sliding (manual) rear doors make getting in and out easy, and there are no worries that the kids will whack the car parked next to you.

The car has been quite reliable. It has had an ignition coil failure which the ECU adapted to, and the dealer replaced it under warrenty. All four tyres were replaced at about 24,000 miles, the wear being even, with the exception of the rear nearside tyre, which had wear on the outer edge.

Servicing is every 20,000 miles and cost £170. The brake fluid has to be changed every two years and that cost £22 at a local garage. Wiper blades will set you back well over £40 a pair at the dealers and cannot be found at Halfords. The car does about 30mpg which seems to match some of the figures from diesel owners.

The car pulls my 1300kg caravan very well. In short, it's a spacious, quite well built, comfortable and safe car.

    My car

I have owned this car for 1 year now and love it. Lots of space, fun to drive, loads of gadgets!!

Two things let it down and they are mentioned in other reviews - Front Tyre Wear and Fuel Consumption. With regards to Front Tyre Wear, I found an article on the internet and gave it to my Citroen Service Dept and got 5 free new tyres and 5 new free Alloys - there is something wrong with the 15 inch wheels, they need 16inch ones - worth a try.

Am currently trying with the fuel consumption, only get about 31mpg, when it quotes approx 38 combined - NOT!!! Even going approx 70 on a Motorway, can only get it up to about 35. Other than this, I can't fault it - other than Auto Windscreen Wipers sometimes are a little too enthusiastic!!

    My car

My C8 is a company vehicle which I have had for over of years. I have also had a number of Synergies (its predecessor) before it.

It is by far the most roomy, versatile and practical vehicle you could wish for. The seating arrangements give a huge variety of solutions and the sliding rear doors are perfect for tight car parks (and the kids love to play with them).

Considering the size and weight of the vehicle, it handles beautifully and is very car-like. The elevated driving position makes for excellent visibility and relaxed motorway cruising.

However, fuel consumption is a disappointment, because even when driven carefully, my 2.0 HDI only averages 35-39mpg. Its predecessor, with an identical engine and the aerodynamics of a brick, would easily do 40mpg. The 2.0 HDI feels a little underpowered and competitors appear to be able to achieve more power and more speed.

Also, the internal trim quality is not the best and the automatic climate control is not as good as the predecessor, because it often requires adjustment. For some reason, my vehicle eats nearside front tyres. The tracking has been checked as each new tyre has gone on, but it has never required adjustment.

I have also experienced a plethora of warning messages since new but all appear to be false alarms. I have yet to find a dealer that is really good.
