having just purchased the picasso this being my first new car i must say i am thoroughly pleased all round c,ant say much about reliability right now the car has only covered 1500 miles but the fuel consumption on the 1.6 92HDI is fantastic giving a ave mpg at just over 53 driving position is also very very good and the rear space for the kids is also fantastic with plenty off space for everything ell worth the money with plenty of extras you would expect to find on much dearer cars efinetly reccomend his model
We bought the 1.6 HDi 92hp VTX model brand new in February 2007. We are a family of four and have just driven it from Scotland to Antibes in the south of France and back on our annual family holiday and found it to be ideal.
We found the Picasso comfortable in both the front and back for the marathon journey. The front seats are both fitted with armrests and the driver's seat is fully adjustable to offer plenty of support to suit your requirements.
Visibilty is very good when driving and the controls are easy to master.
The boot is huge and the car offers good all-round storage, with a flat internal floor both front and back with plenty of door storage space and cubby holes.
For economy, it's absolutely fantastic, with the 60-litre tank returning over 600 miles minimum. This model has the 92hp 1.6 HDi which handled the gradients on the French motorways with ease with four people and a full load on board. It still had plenty of pull for overtaking when required.
The VTX model also comes with cruise control and alloy wheels in addition to everything the Desire trim has, but the VTX is cheaper!
We found cruise control useful on the empty streches of the French motorways and wonder how we ever managed without it!
Overall, the 1.6 HDi 92hp Picasso is a lot of car for the money and we rate it as ideal for the long holiday journeys. It's just as suitable for everyday use and the fuel economy will be hard to beat.
