I was given the picasso when I swapped it with a friend of mine. It has some nice features in the car CD, air-con etc.... But the reliability and things going wroung with seemed to happen every month maybe twice.
Everytime something went wrong with it I was told `Only Citroen can supply that' which meant some over-inflated price.
Would I buy it again? `No way, not in a million years'
After a lot of thought over which MPV to go for, I opted for the 2.0 HDI Picasso. Being a bit of a Citroen buff so to speak, I decided to test drive said vehicle, to which I was so impressed I bought one.
On the whole it's very nice to drive with its high up commanding driving position and good all round vision. I also find it quite comfortable and very spacious inside, with a big boot and great rear seat configuration.
With the rear seats removed it's almost van-like in comparison, with the quality and general finish inside most acceptable indeed.
Its cheap to run, with a low taxation bracket of £115 for the year, it's excellent on fuel, mine averaging around 47mpg just knocking about to and from work etc... plus the added bonus of being only GROUP7 INS, most wonderful me thinks!
So far in the short time I've owned it, its been very reliable, but if it proves to be as reliable as my two previous citroens, unreliability will not be a problem, as they were two of the most reliable cars I have ever owned.
Would I buy another Picasso after this one? So far MOST DEFINITELY!!!
While being well equipped and economical, this doesn't make up for the lack of drive quality, as you sway around bends and waddle your way along country lanes the economy seems to be no replacment for driver pleasure.
That said, there are worse cars to drive and the practicalities of the Picasso place it above or at least equal to other MPVs. The seats are easily removed and once out the vehicle takes on the feel and space of a good-size van.
Would I have another Picasso, I doubt it...
I bought one of the first in my town. The 1.6 LX Excellent mid-size MPV has good visibility, is very comfortable, and has a large boot. Many of my kids' parents now own one! I would buy another.
