I bought my 2004 1.6SX Hatch Auto with below 5000 mls @ 3 years old. I needed auto due to a Knee issue; and have nothing but praise for the Car. I was in the Car trade 20 odd years and believe I know a little about Cars. If I do have a niggle, it's only a couple. You do have to keep awake when cruising at Motorway speeds, due to some lateral instability in crosswinds. It doesn't Iron out the bumps as well as some others, but otherwise I love the Car. The auto is the smoothest I have driven, bar none - I have driven - !
Had the Lacetti for 3 years. Practical car for the family. No major problems developed. Changed 4 tyres and had the tracking adjusted in 3 years of driving(17500 mies).Comfortable drive on flat roads but does not hug the corners well at speed.Slow acceleration through the gears. But OK on the Motorway's - slight wind noise in the cabin. All in all a reliable car and you get whay you pay for.
I drove Lacetti for a day, getting it from the shop to my mother's house.
My first impressions are: it's got a quiet engine, smooth running, and also a steady handling in the highway.
