    My car

I'm 66 (still working). It's the best car I've ever had. 2002 model with Fiat body kit and alloys, now showing 90k miles, no particular problems if regularly serviced. A doddle to park as it's so short. Great for 6 plus dog and picnic, even the middle seats are a good place to be. Practical - transported pedestal dining table and 4 chairs without dismantling. Just back from 2,500 mile run to Spain with Wife, dog, wheelchair, luggage etc. An absolute joy to drive, and somehow de-stresses you. Once you get on the European motorways you could drive it all day and all night, it's so relaxing. 600+ miles on a tankful. What's not to like ? I hope it never wears out.

    My car

We have just purchased our second Multipla, this being an older version of our first. We made the mistake of buying one and then trading it in for a Landrover!!! We own a Vauxhall Zafira, which has its own merits, but nothing in comparison to the Multipla. The original Fiat gave us little problems and we took all three children and my mum to Euro Disney, it was a pleasure to drive and I don't think that I would have wanted to make the journey in another car (we had to detour as the main road to Paris was closed in some areas, and added about 3 hours + to our travel!)

I myself love the car, and think that the interior of the car is amazing, I love the space ship dash and cabin, and I love the roomy feel once inside, it is a Tardis.

My teenage daughters and 8 year daughter were given the choice of another Multipla or a Volvo, and they all went for the Multipla. As an american Multipla driver once said to me "you can turn this thing on a dime" and she was very close, I think that this is one of the easiest cars that I have had the pleasure in driving and owning, and find parking it a simple exercise. I agree with another review, and think that it is a shame that they face lifted the car, I passed an 2008 version yesterday, and it just does not have the same appeal, bring back the frog eyed front!

    My car

Just coming up to 60,000 miles in 4 years of ownership. Looking for a replacement but none seems adequate when you get back to the Multipla! Rear seat space in Touran/Verso cannot compare. Why do other designers not wish rear seat passengers to see out??

Still fun to drive - diesel pulls well and with the right tyres she grips well. Has swallowed the most immense loads - never hire a van again!

Build quality - heaps better than Fiat of old, but still not good enough! Drivers door fell off, front suspension needs looking after, fabric attracts dirt. BUT our sunroofs are watertight (unlike our previous Scenic).

It's not until you wash it by hand and look at the shapes that you really appreciate the work that went into it - far more interesting than 99% of the other cars on the road.

    My car

I bought one of these (02 plate jtd elx) a year ago and it's been one of the best family cars I've had. The clutch was replaced when I bought it at 69000, and it's had new glow plugs too. Fuel economy works out at around 38mpg locally and closr to 50 on a run. I went from Cardiff to Disneyland Paris on a single tankful- not bad with two kids, adults and everything else. I also went to Paignton with four adults, two kids and the car full.It coped admirably, didn't miss a beat and had plenty of space. So far the only problems I've had have been a crank sensor failure,(common problem and £60 to fix and the renowned leaky sunroofs-use Captain Tolleys leak fix £6.) apart from that it's been A1. The kids love it as it has the biggest windows in the world, comfortable and high up, and even the wife enjoys driving it too. Enough said. If you're on a budget, it's the best family car around. If it had better build quality, it would be very hard to beat.Get past the looks,-it's great inside and every other Multipla owner waves to you too. Overall it's cheap to buy and run , good to drive and does everything you want, plus you'll never loose it in a car park!Buy one, you won't regret it.
