A lot of the things people say about Seicentos just aren't true: that they can't keep up on the motorway; that they break down a lot or that they are too tiny to be practical. My sporting can keep up with most things down the sliproad, cruise at 70 all day and fit a reasonably sized table in the back. Even though it had problems when we got it, It's never let us down.
The car is best at about 50 or 60 on a country road though, where the handling is great and everything in the car feels best, I always have a smile on my face after driving it. Check it before you buy though, as a lot are abused or just neglected, which is usually the real cause for most of the problems people associate with Seicentos.
i have a bright red fiat seicento sporting which i love have owned for 6 months now. Its good on fuel and looks great and modern to. I will definately recommend this car to young people who have passed there tests as its cute and funky practical too. Its a breeze to drive and quite fast too. In a credit crunch it takes £20.00 pounds to fill the tank full which i think is excellant. I have no complaints about my fiat seicento sporting the heater works wonders in this winter and warms up quickly .Hope they decide to make a new seicento for the near future my cheeky seicento love it ! love it ! x
I've driven my Seicento almost every day during the 3 years I've owned it - on some long trips too. It might not break any speed records but it's been 100% reliable. It can squeeze into (and through) the tiniest of spaces so parking and town driving is easy. Great fuel economy, cheap to run and tax/insure. As small cars go, it might be basic but it's v. highly recommended!
After a Fiat Punto which kept on breaking down, I was very reluctant to try the Fiat Seicento 1.1 Sporting 3dr. However, just after 1 week, I had decided this was the best car I had ever got- 25k miles on the clock, 2002 model, and only £1000! It also had tinted windows and had never broken down for the three years I had it. When I needed to go on a 3 hour journey, it easily flew down the motorways at 90mph! Mind you, the fuel consumption is also very good. I would definitely recommend it to anyone!
