I am tall and normally have a problem with headroom, but with the standard roof on this car I was fine. However, you do seem to be sitting very high up. The diesel engine is noticeable on tickover but quietens down with speed. It has plenty of go from low revs, however. Fuel consumption is a little lower than the published combined figure - the trip computer says I get 48mpg, but how accurate is it ? All I can say is that diesel consumption is not enough of a concern to run a check. Fit and finish are fine for this price, although the upholstery is a little too pale and shows every little mark. But I had the chance to refuse it and await a model with the more sombre grey upholstery. The electric power steering is a bit weird, with little feedback. For a start I was taking every corner wide, but now have got the hang of it. The city parking feature is not necesary as there is enough assistance as standard to cope. I did try it once and would describe it as 'novel'. Handling otherwise is okay - for a big estate car. The boot is huge, low-silled and flat sided - very practical. In summary, not perfect, but not a bad car at all for the price and the space.
There's very little storage space in the boot.
There's no adjustment on the passenger seat, and my head touches the roof as the seats are too high.
The key fob has raised open and close buttons, which means accidental opening of doors and the roof if you're not careful.
It's a nice car to drive, but the diesel engine can be noisy. There is ample legroom for rear passengers.
I paid nearly £16,000 with extras - a full-length sunroof, full two-tone leather, MP3 player etc at six months old, 3100 miles on a 54 plate. The dealer offered me £8000. I lost 50% in six months, not a very good return.
