    My car

Now had it one year and what a mistake. One reason for buying was the advertised 60+ mpg, I average 43 and due to my job (Paid per mile) I am a very careful driver. Less fuel used more money on payday. No stowage space for things in cabin, Revs dip badly when pulling away. have stalled it due to loss of revs more times than my previous 51 years of driving. Folding up rear seats is positively primitive. Noisy engine and lots of wind/road noise.Full of silly voice activated items that you never use like Changing Temp., Changing Radio Freq. etc. I suppose the phone voice control is OK if you need to use your mobile a lot. No spare wheel of any type of course, had to buy one £165 and it does not fit in the boot properly. Altogether it is a pretty horrible car that I wish I never owned.

    My car

The C-Max has been a revelation, standing up to the rigors of life with two young children extremely well. Yes, the interior is largely made up of hard plastics and isn't much to look at, but it all feels so solid. I'm happy to compromise on the quality to get that hard-wearing interior, given the wear and tear my kids throw at it. It's also easy to drive, although this engine is at its best around town rather than on the open motorway. There's also decent storage and boot space, including some underfloor cubbies that are great for hiding things from the kids. After switching from a Ford Ka I was worried I'd be intimidated by the car's size, but so far it hasn't been a problem thanks to the large windows and high up driving position. Overall, this is a great car for everyday family life.

    My car

I have a 2.0 litre auto on the motability scheme. I have had it for 1 year and it has been faultless. It is very comfortable, quiet and easy to drive. The quality of all the car is great, and I have had several long drives in it, all in comfort. It is particularly good and quiet on the motorway, where it has plenty of power, the handling is absolutely excellent. The car also looks good and still looks brand new after a year.

In summary, it is a lovely car, if you are to choose a motability car I would thoroughly recommend it, the driving position has a great range, the steering and controls are light and easy to use, the engine is almost silent, even at speed.

I have also driven the 2.0 litre diesel manual, it is also excellent, and very powerful, even better than the petrol version I have, the only reason I have the petrol one is that I could have this as an automatic.

    My car

We have a Ford C-Max 1.6i Style under a 3 year lease with Motability. The car is currently on 24,300 miles and it's still going strong, but is ready for it's second year service. We've had no trouble with the car except for the odd squeak and rattle within the cabin.

We've nearly had the car for 2 years now and it's been a joy to have although the only downsides I have with the car are the running costs. I find the vehicle revs too highly on the motorway, at 70mph the car is doing 3,200 rpm which I find quite high, but it is a petrol. The only other problem I have are the huge thick a-pillars which make it pretty tricky when going round bends or seeing pedestrians. I did once lose a whole car in the passenger side pillar once as he was at a funny angle and it was only when I proceeded to pull out I saw the car; So it's pretty dangerous.

But apart from the slight issues there, I love it and would definately recommend one to anyone although if I was buying one, I'd go for a large engine and preferably the diesel versions. I would also say that I'd rather have a C-Max over the conventional Focus because it drives similarly to it and I think it's just a better all rounder.

In all I love our C-Max and would have another tomorrow.
