My Dad bought this car many moons ago with 10k on the clock, since then it has seen many years, yet the body is still totally rust free, the paint gleams like new and it is my first car, I love every minute of driving it, the engine is smooth and revs beautifully (it's now coming up for 90k) it's well equipped for its age and I get 46MPG on a long run. What more could you ask for??? Oh and it's never once broke down or failed to complete a journey!
I have owned this car for 11 years, driving 91000 miles and the engine is still as smooth and quite as when it was new, the car has never broken down or needed any garage work except the standard servicing, new tyres etc. My Si came fully loaded with every available extra when new, i have driven alot of other cars and found only the ford puma handled better.
absolutely brilliant in every single way, it will pull in every gear, does 0-60 in about 4.8 seconds and will reach a top speed of about 187mph, this is all after i modded it by the way, but yeh, t.v's in the seats, boom box in the boot, neon lights underneath, some 22inch alloy spinners and a heffer of a spoiler, the best thing since browwn bread, quality car.
I've had this car now for the past three years. This car is ten years old and still is going well. Bodywork is in excellent condition and the same goes for the engine. I have looked after the car and would have to disagree with some other reviews. I believe the perfomance of a car is down to the driving and the maintainence it receives. The car still pulls well and fuel economy is good seeing an average of 35 mpg. An Escort doing 20 mpg must be poorly maintained. The suspenision is awful after 60k If I'm honest. In three years I've seen a new clutch, exhaust (cat back), discs and pads all round and that comes to a fraction of what you might pay today. Cheap car to run. I shall be trading in for a focus though as the escorts look dated now.
