I had a 1.25LX from 1997 to 2002 and found it a wonderful car both in town and motorway driving. It was very economical and reliable and never broke down. I travelled around 69,000 miles during this time. It was a lot better than the current Ford Fiesta Finesse which I bought new in 2002. This has just blown the head gasket after only 47,500 miles and is a lot less comfortable than the 1.25LX
Lets put it this way i love my fiesta,it really is a great little car.Its great fun to drive, has nice crisp handling, the engine gives a nice performance, espically motorway driving, and the interior is of a good quality. Reliabilty and economy is generally good,if things do go wrong parts are of a affordable price.
In my own view a great all round car.
This is the 2nd zetec s i have owned and it is a joy to drive, handles corners like is on rails, is generally reliable couple of minor niggles but not expensive to fix. It can be a bit of a thirsty beast (best i recorded on one tank was 312 miles) and i feel the chasis could cope with some extra power but it pulls well especially with super plus in the tank and takes motorways in its stride. Build quality is good although some annoying creaks are now surfacing at 55000 miles. Overall a v nice and rewarding car to own.
I've had this car for two years and it's had loads go wrong. From the windscreen wipers to the exhaust, I've spent a fortune keeping it on the road. I would seriously advise considering other makes before buying one. Everything that could go wrong with this car has gone wrong and it only had 22000 miles when I bought it.
It is great fun to drive but not worth the cost of fixing everything all the time. I had a Micra for five years and never once had a problem with it.
