The 1242cc engine in my 'Ford Fiesta Hatchback 1.25i 82 Edge 5dr' has been used for over a decade in Fords, FIATs and Mazdas, and has proved itself to be a perky little motor. Its not massively powerful, but when pushed, it moves the Fiesta along briskly enough. It gives over 50mpg, and emits just 129g/km of CO2, making it very affordable. Having the 5dr variant, its surprisingly practical. The styling of the new Fiesta is very modern and stylish. All in all, a good bet if you want a cheap to run little runaround.
