    My car

Unfortunately, I have had this car as my company car for three months now, and am already trying to swap it. The engine isn't as refined as Ford makes out, and the one in mine sounds like it has come straight out of a tractor. Fuel economy isn't what I'd expect from this class of diesel, averaging about 40mpg.

The dashboard console is very cheap looking and basic, although simple to use. As for the display, it drives me nuts. When it's cold outside, I don't need an irritating snowflake to illuminate on the dashboard to tell me it's cold, my body normally does a pretty good job of informing me of this. Then the snowflake changes colour when it gets colder - again, why?!!

When the screen wash becomes low, yes, it's a good idea to tell me, but then it stays on so you cannot read any info on the trip computer, and the little orange light that comes on is very distracting.

My car has now developed a revolting rotten veg smell when reversing or stop-start in low gears in traffic. One good thing about this model is the quick clear windscreen, which is wonderful in cold winter mornings. If you're thinking of buying this car, don't - save your money by buying a skateboard.

    My car

The car is great. I feel it bottoms at a point before my previous Golf, and needs to be worked through the gears - which I really enjoy.

It is comfortable. The car has never let me down (I'm approaching 15,000 miles) and always makes me smile when I am approaching the car after a long day at work.

What's even more fun is pulling off at traffic lights as the adjacent BMW driver looks perplexed! Sadly, the fuel economy has been woefully less than the offical figures and far, far less than I would have hoped.

Smashing motor, but I have been left wide-jawed by the poor service. No matter how good the car is, I have to seriously consider my next motor to ensure I have great dealership support. After all, my car is fundamental to my life and job.

    My car

I am very impressed with the handling and power.

The refinements that come with this model are easily to hand and easy to use. Appearance is fab so far I have no complaints but as my car is less than 2 weeks old it is too early to pass judgement.

    My car

This car should have a health and safety warning with it in connection with road noise.

In town, the car is okay and very pleasant to drive - on the motorway, forget it, you'd be better off with a pneumatic drill in the car.

In fact, that's just what it feels like. I drove for five hours yesterday and was absolutely exhausted by the end of it. I use a hands-free kit and one of my colleagues said there was so much noise it wasn't so much like I was driving on the motorway, it was more like I was stood at the side of it with the traffic passing.

As for the boot, did the designers take cues from sports-car manufacturers to see how small the boot could be made? In my opinion, it's laughable. I definitely would not buy one of these cars.
