GREAT TO DRIVE, ECONOMICAL AND I CAN GET ALL THE KIDS AND THEIR KIT IN. HOWEVER THE WIFE WONT DRIVE IT AS SHE FEELS IT'S TOO BIG.
SERVICING WAS REASONABLE. DASHBOARD ELECTRICS BLEW SOON AFTER DELIVERY, PROMPTLY PUT RIGHT BY FORD AND NO PROBLEMS SINCE.
GREAT ALL-ROUND VIEW WHEN DRIVING, ALTHOUGH RESTRICTED WHEN FULLY LOADED WITH PASSENGERS. BUT, AS WITH MOST CARS, THERE IS A BLIND SPOT TO BE AWARE OF.
I WAS THINKING OF TRADING IT IN FOR ANOTHER THIS YEAR, HOWEVER THE NEW MODEL ARRIVES NEXT YEAR. I'M WARY OF EVEN GREATER DEPRECIATION SO MAY SIDE STEP INTO A TOURAN, BUT WILL COME BACK TO THE GALAXY.
The Galaxy replaced by Sharan VR6 which without doubt was the most unreliable and expensive car I have ever owned.
The Ford has now been in the family for 3 years, having been bought 10-months old.
It came with xenon headlights, multimedia pack (TV's and video, godsend for the kids) headlamp washers and mats, all-in all £27,500 on the road brand new, or £17500 10 months old, so do yourself a favor.
The Galaxy has now done 43k and as yet has not failed us on a run. One small problem is sometimes it won't start at all, but with a wiggle of the key it seems to clear. It's comfortable, quite, pretty reasonable on fuel and looks cool in black with dark windows. It has reafirmed my faith in people carriers after my nightmare with the VW.
Would be superb car, but in the four years of owning it it spent more than six months in the Ford dealership.
Repairs included gearbox, engine, air-con x 2 to mention just a few. A lot of the time parts were not readily available.
The car has hard, uncomfortable seats, and a hard ride with only one person on board. The body roll is unacceptable in windy conditions, too. Unfortunately, it is also very cramped in the back, and there is no room for luggage when all the seats are used.
