This car is both reliable and good to drive. The LX spec with air-con is fine and has all that is needed.
This one is a 2.0-litre auto, which has a very responsive gearbox with sport/economy and over-drive features.
It has proved to be very reliable and has had full dealer servicing since new and now covered 125,000 miles with only the timing belt and brake discs replaced and the gearbox oil replaced.
The engine is still strong, uses no oil, and pulls well.
A good example of a fine family car which if serviced properly remains reliable and retains its performance.
I have had three Mondeo estates as company wagons. 100,000 mile in each and almost total reliability. Also great for taking two student daughters and all their stuff to uni. Both long since graduated so now I run a Focus. If you see a serviced Mondeo it'll be a good buy. Handles well, comfortable and well kitted. 1.8 is no ball of fire fully loaded, though.
