    My car

I bought this model in December 2007 - Mondeo Ghia 2.0i which is a 53 plate - former company car. It a nice car to begin with; I paid £6500 part exchange with 55931 miles on the clock. It drives very comfortable especially on the motorway which can be slightly noisy when drive around town. The fuel comsumption from I bought it is average 34 mpg combine, which I think is beacause I use it around town mostly. The only thing that is replace on it since I had it was the electric boot lock which was covered under after sales warranty. The A/C unit was playing up & I had to take it to a Ford dealer. They told me that compressor clutch is gone so I need a new one which cost both labour & parts £345 to replaced. Surprisely it start to working again, so I only have to pay for inspection fee of £42. Anyway I hope this car is value for money, since it is early to say yet, but they are faults with the rear suspension bushes which I'm looking out for.

    My car

2001 COMPANY CAR. This is the worst car i ever had. in 3 years 70000 miles There were few things that did not go wrong. It had continuous problems with the central locking/alarm which were never fixed. Clutch, brakes, drive shafts, cooling fan all went wrong time after time. It was in the garage more than it should have been and to make it worse the Ford dealers never really seemed to know how it worked (or did not most of the time) it was in the garage twice by the time it had done 120 miles for central locking /window opening problems. The important thing was that this was a company car. I was not responsible for the repair costs. If you are unfortunate enough to actually own one of these you will be.......

    My car

Having surrendered an Accord diesel Exec with my previous job, and nurturing a prejudice against Fords, I didn't expect to be impressed by the Mondeo, but I was pleasantly surprised.

I was attracted by a very competitive price for a six month old car and can say that £ for £ the Mondeo offers excellent value.

Of course, it is not at all the same class of car - if money were no object, Honda would win on every score. BUT for a car some 40% cheaper than an equivalent Accord it is excellent value.

Plusses: drives very well and packs power beyond the 115bhp rating; excellent braking, gear changes, acceleration, road holding and brill headlights, feels very confident on the open road, HUGE boot and with back seats down you could move house with it AND it does 50mpg (if you drive it properly).

Minuses: horrid plastics and steering wheel, poor radio/stereo, lumpy to drive around town, only five gears, no ISOFIX or traction control, diesel engine sounds like a van

Would I go back to owning an Accord? Well, yes, but that's not to detract from the Mondeo as a real value-for-money offering

    My car

I bought the car in june 07 as a demonstrator with just 2000 mls on the clock .I,ve now covered 42000 mls with no major faults at all.Economy seems to vary from the best 51 to the worst 39 (according to the cars computer. I dont think its really giving a true reading).overall the car been great to drive. All to easy to go over the speed limit. One fault has been that laquer on the drivers mirror has peeled away.dispite contacting the ford dealer no response from them whats so ever even after calling in to the body shop 4 times and promises of being contacted.(the computers are down,Ford havent got back to them, are just a couple of lame excuses) On a brighter note the same dealer's sevice dept. have been very good.I think the car looks very good especially in the performane blue with the st alloys. The dealer informed me I would require new pads and discs on my next service.(pads i accept discs find hard to beleive) Getting around 20000mls out of the front tyres.far better than my previous mondeo Currently debating what to buy next another sttdci with delivery miles, a jaguar 2.2 deisel sport premium. (allthough the cost of servicing the jag seems eccessive twice the cost of the ford for basically the same engine) I'd wait for a new model st but no one seems to know if or when it will appear.Certainly been a excellent car .reasonably quick economic good looking and full of toys .Think I mighty buy the delivery mls sttdci whats any one else have to say.
