I've had this car for over 2 years now and have been very impressed. Other than a glow plug, nothing has failed on it in 22,000 miles. The handling is brilliant, and it's well equipped what with AirCon, ABS, CD changer and heated leather seats. Fuel consumption can be a bit heavy - I only get 380 miles to a tank if I use lead boots, but with more careful driving it's easy to get that figure over the 550 mile mark.
My only complaints are its lack of power (but then I never expected it to match up to my old Petrol Montego Turbo !) and the driver's leg-room, at 6ft 3" it's a little bit on the cramped side for me - I keep thinking the seat isn't quite fully back, especially compared to my wife's Astra.
Nevertheless, it's definitely the best car I've had and I'll be keeping it for a few more years yet.
We have had our 1998 Mondeo for over 5 years now and it has proved to be an utterly reliable, comfortable car with reasonable running costs for its size. Average 38mpg motorway driving, it has never let us down, comfortable seats and a good sized boot. Honestly cant think of anything negative about it at all. Had a nearly new C-Max which gave far more problems than this old Mondeo - would thoroughly recommend it to anyone wanting a good, cheap, comfortable family car.
Owned the car for 7 years. In that time covered 52000 miles.Never let me down.Comfortable drive, reasonable running costs and spacious cabin.
Highly recommended as a good reliable family car.Not worth trading in as I am lucky to get £950 for it now.Why spend 9k on another Mondeo when I should another two years motoring from this car.
I love this car, it's so easy to drive. Smooth, comfortable and spacious, i bought it from new, it's 6 years old now, and i've never had even a minutes problem with it(except the rear view mirror came off in my hand once), great through towns, motorways and country lanes very versatile. I would recomend this car to anyone, the only downside is the running costs i average about 34 mpg, but compared to other cars of this size that is still a good average. I love the cruise control, (great for passing speed cameras!) the air con, its a life saver on those rare hot days, and the easy acceleration makes passing those sunday drivers easy and safe. A fab car all in all.

Owned for 1 year, as family runabout Pros good size, general build quality, powershift gearbox, good to drive, low costs Cons handling slighly…
Had this car for 90k from new. A 56 plate. In over 2,000,000 miles driven this one has broken down the most of any car I have had. DO NOT get a 2.0…
