    My car

I have owned this 2.0 TDCi Zetec for 7 months now and overall I am very impressed.

Positives Handing is good for a large family estate, engine has enough guts to make good progress and the economy if great. As a motorway cruiser I cannot fault it - 55mpg+ at 70 mph, quiet and comfortable. Zetec has all the important toys that I want (full electric windows, cruise and climate controls, good stereo)

Negatives Around town fuel comsumption drops below 30 mpg and it feels huge in car parks and when parking. If you stand in the wrong place when you lift the tailgate you get soaked - not great design!!

Overall if you need a big family car, but still want to enjoy driving then I would strongly recommend this new Mondeo.

    My car

This is a second and final review now that I am finally getting rid of what has to be the most disapointing and overated car I've ever owned.

I'm not going to go over all of the design faults again, they're well documented elsewhere. The positives are that it is not bad looking and its got plenty of room inside for the family.

The drive is overated. My previous Focus was a better car to drive. I can't believe its so noisey, especially at motorway speeds. Even my wifes Meriva is quieter! There is also a bad flat spot at motorway speeds which got worse following a software update. My main concern is the poor quality. There are numerous squeeks and rattles, the back doors drop and let in water so all the carpets are soaked. The rear suspension has now started knocking. The car feels like it has done 100k miles and not 20k miles.

I've just changed for a new Citroen c5 which cabin space aside is better in every way, especially quality.

    My car

I am writing this for j kelly. I have owned a new shape mondeo for 1 year so I know the pit falls of them. I now own a 2008 citroen c5. The mondeo had serious problems when it was first launched in 2007.

The boot allowed water to run into the boot itself (sorted out on 2008 models).

The electrics on the 2.0 tdci where poor as it stalled as approaching a roundabout or just slowing down.

If it's raining on the motorway, the water will run around the window and onto the drivers and passenger side windows which make it extremely difficult for changing lanes.

The ghia models have awful wood interiors and the titanium cluster looks similar to halfords special silver cheap look.

Do what I did and many others and go and buy a citroen c5 which is better looking, better built and more reliable. If you don't believe me read the reviews. If you don't like the c5 have a look at the 2008 renault laguna and just see how reliable it is. These cars are french but their much better in every way.

    My car

My Mondeo Titanium Sport (2.5L Turbo) was delivered last Thursday and I am truly excited by the engine and the road handling. I waited more that four months to be delivered and I can say that it was well worth the wait. I opted for the Mondeo since I believed that the handling, ride quality and tempo easily surpassed any of the Mercedes, BMWs and Audi of the similar and even higher price. Yesterday a motor cyclist tapped on the passenger window and asked me where I got that twin exhaust kit for my unassuming Mondeo. I said to him that it is the 2.5T (the badge appears only below the driver side flash indicator) and off he went speechless. It is sad that the FMC doesnot promote this model to the public.
