    My car

I have owned my Mondeo 2.0 TDCI Ghia Auto from new - Sept 2008 - and covered 20,000 miles to date so feel I am in a position to give a reasonable "long term view" of this model. An excellent vehicle all round, comfortable, great drive, loads of room for passengers and luggage and extremely well built, it would appear. The only negatives I have about this car are the thick windscreen pillars and the rather limited life of the front tyres - 14,000 miles - as compared to 20,000 miles on my previous model Mondeo. Excellent engine mated to ultra smooth 6 speed auto gearbox has given me an average of 43.5 mpg over 15 months.

    My car

I live in Sydney, Australia. I have purchased the Aussie equivalent called a "Mondeo XR5 Turbo". It is closest to the 2.5T Titanium X model in terms of equipment and specification.

Very happy with the purchase, however an intermittent immobiliser fault rendered the car inoperable until the battery was disconnected and reconnected. No problems since, however the car has covered approx 2000km so far.

Deceptively powerful and quite fuel efficient, it is when you steer the Mondeo into corners that it really shines. Unfortunately, the price to pay is in the firm ride (on 235/40 tyres and 18' rims).

Beautifully equipped and plenty of room for friends and family, recommend this car to other readers

    My car

Having driven the Mondeo for 33k miles in ten months I would make the following comments:- a. Looks superb, drives well, well screwed together, returns over 50mpg if driven carefully, water into boot when opened is a joke, unable to see the offside mirror when it's raining as water doesn't deflect from the door pillar and runs along the side window, sometimes when decelerating into an island or a corner the car completely dies. The cutting out and the poor vision are safety features that need to be addressed by Ford.

    My car

It is really annoying that people take up space on this review site to comment on a car that they have had for just 10 minutes or took a short test drive in. I want to read about a car that someone has had for a year or so in order that I can assess what long term ownership means.
