I am a ST220 owner mine is a 2004 6speed, i have had many cars from BMW to the new Mini, but i have to hand it to fords for the ST its got to be the best around for your money, you get top leather seats, and a nice looking cabin with loads of space, the body comes with a 12 year protection you get 18in alloys what more could you ask for and for a extra few pounds you can have voice control for your mobiles and radio think this time fords win hands down, top speed in mine is 170 mph had to have it played with but its worth it and the poor M3 drivers just dont know what hit them lol, best thing to do is go test drive 1 and see for your self, its a whole new ball game when you drive a ST220
I have recently traded this car in for an Audi A4 and i am not sorry! The Audi is 100% better.
The Ghia X is a nice car fully loaded with gadgets although questionable whether most are needed. The dimming rear view mirror was probably the most impressive!! The climate control system failed on mine and after spending £230 to fix it, it broke with a different problem 4 months later (Ford estimated it at £600 - £700 repair and i didn't get it done)
The drive is good as you would expect with a mondeo but what i would call raw. It is fairly noisy, you feel the road and you have to push the car (lots of effort around corners etc). The acceleration on the 2.0 is good although i averaged 27 mpg; but then i say buy a diesel if this is your concern!
The car shook at 70 mph even after four new tyres. Dunno what that was. The problem with the mondeo is reliability. I think these cars are good for so long, but expect the car to deteriate fast after a few years. Another problem was getting the boot to shut as the catch would stick a lot, and at 74000 miles i was struggling to get it started some days.
I like the Mondeo idea (cheapish motoring with luxury gadgets) but i must refer to an old saying. You get what you pay for. Spend the extra and buy German!

Braking is not the best Running cost, although it will do 25mpg around town which is pretty good Tyres, £130 approx each
Overall though i loved mine and just sold it for £8200 which is over average. If you keep it in good condtion it will sell itself.
The car I experienced was a 55 plate auto with 4k. First impressions were a this was a well presented and well thought out car, much improved from the last model, which I experienced in a x plate Ghia derivative too. The interior was smart and logical, though the air-conditioning controls looked extremely dated, and the wood-look finish a little too cheap looking for a 20k car. Moving onto the performance, or lack of, this has to be the slowest 2 litre car ever made! Overtaking was such a strain as even with the pedal to the metal, there was just no power to move you quicker than a 1.2 litre fiesta, at one point I wondered if the handbrake was still on as some auto's have a funny-style foot-on/handle release break, but this was not the case. Verdict, a comfy car, but a TDCi would do it all so much better.

I've had 6 VWs now including this one and it is a mixed bag. In no particular order the economy is poor despite the FSI badging and in town never…
Why is there so much whining about the rear sets? It's small - it's called a "mini" (hint). It didn't get any smaller after you bought it, so deal…
