    My car

I have found the Mondeo to be an excellent car to drive, particularly on motorway journeys.

The fuel economy strikes me as very reasonable. The only real negative point I can make is about its turbo lag - you really do need your revs up for it to go when you want it to go.

    My car

I bought this car as a compromise. I was replacing a Mercedes, so accepted that, in order to reduce the total running costs, I would have to compromise.

It has not let me down, with fuel economy up from 15mpg or so to well over 40mpg, and more than 50mpg on a good and straightish run (home to Norwich is 52mpg).

Its comfort is OK, and the Sony CD changer good, though it was faulty when new and had to be replaced.

The children miss the comfort of a long wheelbase (my son is 6ft 3in) but all in all I prefer to save the £7000 to £10,000 a year!

The drive itself is not exciting. I will consider an SLK when I hit the male menopause but, until then, thank you Ford.

    My car

We own a 2004 model TDCi Zetec saloon, what a machine! The engine far outstrips any other Ford engine that either of us have driven, performs better than our old 2litre 16v Zetec petrol. We drive it fast and we still get 46 to the gallon! Outstanding refinement and performance.

Six speed gearbox is highly recommended for its precise action and ratios are near perfect. Standard cruise is very welcome on long journeys, as is the great sound system.

We bought from a local Ford main dealer and are nothing but amazed at the difference between our last car purchase, nothing was a problem and demonstration of the car and all of the toys was superb, (unlike the old Rover dealers).

If you are looking for a family car with oodles of room and economy, there simply is nowhere else to look. A near perfect balance of comfort and performance along with fabulous economy, a real gem!

    My car

I have a 4 year old TDDI saloon - not given me any trouble at all and still drives and feels like new! A driver's car. The best car I have driven yet. Better than some more expensive competitors.
