hey i bought a Black 1999 t REG 1.7 vct ford puma...well the positives...lovly looks and lovely natural noise, kinda of smooth ride ...not to slow, great for economical reasons, fun to drive, loves bends , nice height for when putting petrol in car, petrol cap at a nice height.
faults: hi insurance group,rdiculous road tax, very back end happy,car sits to high at the bak, interior to plain,rear seats offers little space, power band sumtimes is abit to late in the revs hence encouraging more agreesive driving and rinses more petrol,blind spots...well its not the best car for vision.
in purchasing the car on 60k miles within my 1st day ov geting insured my clutch went costing 280 to fix..a few months later i needed new abs sensor,new brake discs, new break pads, rear pistons needed fixing, headlight wire connection needed re-wiring total ov 600 pound so almost 900 pound spent and gess what the car had mroe problems ...the abs sensor and traction control lights were still on.when breaks were aplied sumtimes they wudnt break,a foul gridin noise would occur and the car wudnt slow down at usual effectiveness.
360miles=full tank 31£
I have owned a 2000(X) 1.7 Puma for 7 years and love it. the only major expense was a new clutch (£400). its fantastic to drive and each time i think about replacing it i cant find anything thats as much fun. It has a remarkable amount of space with the rear seats down, enough for a weeks camping! all in all, a fantastic effort from ford and i hope they eventually make a replacement thats as good
I only just bought my black 1.7s puma, i love its its a nippy little thing quite comfy to drive. i hope this fun never ends. ste ill race ya lol x
We bought our ford puma about 3 months ago as a replacement for our Renault Megane. In comparison to the Magane the puma felt nible and compact. The handling is a dream and the 1.7 engine give you proper push-back in the seat accelaration. Prior to buying the car our only concern was the economy and after checking out some websites like whatcar we discovered that we could expect 38+ MPG but in my long haul to work I managed to average a very respecable 44 MPG 6 more than my old Magane offered. The ride is quiet and civilised when cruising but during hard accelaration the motorbike engine picks up and utters a racey gurgle. All in all our current experience with the Ford Puma is very enjoyable and the current price they are at makes sports car enjoyment at Clio money
I once owned an 04 GT (the version with the stupidly heavy clutch - a built in gym for your left leg). I've driven both editions since and must say…
I bought my TT 2 years ago, second hand (99 model)with 40k on the clock. Since then it has done 40 more. Service costs have been £250 a time. Timing…
