As a company car driver, who is priveledged to have his pick, I chose the Honda for numerous things.
I disagree that the car is overpriced. Everyone can get a few bob off a car from a salesman and Honda is no exception. When a company that sells cars realises that false list prices for cars is stupidity, the world will be a better place. How can it be that I can drive a £20,000 car rather than a £12,000 car and pay less tax?
The Accord sits in the bottom rung of company tax at 15%. Who in their right mind would choose a Peugeot/Renault/Mondeo or other cars I could mention ahead of the Accord diesel?
The car is built to German quality, has the sweetest diesel on the planet, a slick gearbox, and is an all round excellent car to boot.
It's the best car I have ever had.
I have one of these for a 10-day trial to see if I want to buy.
The car is excellent and Honda reliability seems to show through. It drives very well and has a lot of extras including cruise controls, touch screen DVD sat-nav, electric heated seats, good-size tank - 65 litres and returning about 50mpg it lasts a while.
It holds the road well and responds very well. Downsides are few - though it could do with a hatchback version.
Will I buy? Very likely.
This is my fifth Accord, and third model type. The others where all 2.0-litre and the performance of the 2.4 is superb in comparison. Again though Honda have created a vehicle with poor vision at the front as the pillars on the windscreen obscure the view.
Reversing is difficult also as the rear window restricts vision also.
Ventilation is good when the climate control is running, but turn it off and the windscreen soon mists up.
Seating is good and the adjustment excellent. Gadgets are good especially the sat nav. Audio is easily controlled on the touch screen in the centre console.
I have just replaced all the tyres after 22,000 miles, which is good for me but the price was steep as I replaced like for like.
Honda support is good and when I had a complaint about the wheels they replaced the alloys within four days with no argument.
All in all I will probably buy another when I change next, although I have had a drive of the 2.2 diesel and that might be favourite.
The best company car I've had in the past 15 years. Drive it like a rally car or drive it like a limousine - both give excellent ride and handling.
The only fault I found was with the 17" alloy wheels. On adhoc occasions, the car appeared to get stuck in ruts in the road and would pull sideways, as though stuck in tram lines or on train tracks. This problem disappeared one I changes the front tyres suggesting it may be a fault with the standard tyres as fitted to the 17" alloy wheels?
Overall a great car to drive - full of all the features I wanted, and all fitted as standard.

Owned for 1 year, as family runabout Pros good size, general build quality, powershift gearbox, good to drive, low costs Cons handling slighly…
Had this car for 90k from new. A 56 plate. In over 2,000,000 miles driven this one has broken down the most of any car I have had. DO NOT get a 2.0…
