This has been in some ways one of the best cars I have driven and by a long way the worst!
I loved the responsive, quiet diesel engine, however in the time I have had it September 2004 to July 2007, it has been off the road for some seven months in total.
The local garage has been OK, however my big disappointment has been with Honda UK. The car eventually was recalled for repair, but their attitude to me as a customer was appalling.
They were rude, offhand and discourteous. I asked for information on the car's problems and they kept blaming the garage, which was nonsense.
The car kept losing power when accelerating, ie when passing other vehicles, which was very disconcerting and dangerous! Honda customer services come bottom in customer satisfaction.
Most unreliable car I have owned since the old bangers of my teens. Consequently, I have got to know the guys at the dealership quite well and they have been very professional about ALL of the problems (its not their fault). It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't so dull to drive.
This is a great car to drive, but that's about where it stops. I paid a lot of money for this car, quite a bit more than my previous two BMWs.
The worst aspect of it I would have to say is the fuel economy - it's nowhere near Honda's claims. I average less than 30mpg on average.
Also, the paint seems very thin - it didn't take long before the bonnet was covered in chips. The rear brakes went at 18,000 miles and a headlight seal failed not long after.
It also has blinds spots that might catch you out caused by the front door pillars.
All in all, for the price it's not as good as my previous BMW, but if you don't mind the running costs, it's a great drive.
I have owned this car for just over a year and, although I enjoy drivivg the car and think it looks pretty good, I have three problems and I would be interested to find out if others have experienced similar issues. 1) The paintwork appears to be very thin and scratches unbelievably easily - in fact it's difficult to wash the car without scratching it somewhere and I have numerous white stone chips on the bonnet (it's a pearlescent dark blue). It's almost as if they didn't put enough coats of paint on it - anyone else have this problem? 2)I only get about 30 mpg on average, when it's supposed to do 36 and the maximum

Had this car for 90k from new. A 56 plate. In over 2,000,000 miles driven this one has broken down the most of any car I have had. DO NOT get a 2.0…
