    My car

I bought Harriet Honda new in May 2005, because I was lead to believe that it was a well built and reliable car. Reliable without a doubt, on 107,000 miles now and touch wood, no beakdowns & she always starts. I do a minimum of 500miles a week and the ride is delightful & soo comfy. Huge space in the back, you can almost fit the whole of Suffolk in the boot! The real problem with harriet is the really POOR build quality inside. She rattles and creaks more than a haunted house most of the time and I'm far to embarrassed to return her again for this probelm. Dashboard taken out and re postioned and many other parts too. The dealer is FABULOUS and I mean it which has helped me no end, and because they have been so helpful it will be extremely differcult to give them up as I will NEVER buy another Honda.

    My car

I had my Tourer executive for over two and a half years now as a company car and I have to say it has been a joy to have. I have 77K on the clock now with no major issues so far. my clutch started slipping 2K ago and was changed by Honda also my CD changer stopped working and Honda ended up changing the CD/sat nav unit under warranty, never had my cds back though as they were stuck in the old unit! My local Honda Dealer in W-S-M is very good and I feel that the people there go the extra mile to keep me happy. the only thing I noticed with the car is it goes through tyres like no tomorrow espacially the front ones. I am due for a new car in a couple of month and I will defently consider another Honda as I feel it is a descent value for money.

    My car

'My' Tourer is a company car on 90k and its 4th year. Generally, lived up to what I expected - and why I chose it - notimpressed by the cache of a german marque badge! I concur that it is very heavy on front tyres, the worst lasting only 9k, ave only 12k.I too have been gassed by fumes following a manifold failure, outside of warranty but partially settled by Honda. It took some time for the dealership to 'find' the problem but given the times it is noted in earlier reviews it suggests this is a widespread problem that they would have been aware of? I agree that the engine is generally robust and performs well but some trim quality isn't quite up snuff. Windscreen washers have regularly blocked & try fitting replacing headlamp bulbs by the roadside or anywhere for that matter other than at a dealer!(Honda not the only culprits - but something that should be addressed). The remote tailgate can be very useful as is the huge cargo space - I get my bike in easily. The rear seat mechanism is a good idea but doesnt always work as it should and the centre console, glove box, coin tray are all very flimsy. Steering wheel mounted switches for radio and cruise really should be illuminated for night driving. Honda Brislington have in general been very good. Otherwise still happy with the choice and looking forward to seeing that Honda have addressed these niggles in new car due in Sept 08 though loss of 110litres of space is a concern.

    My car

Update for you. It appears that after fitting the latest manifold - it wasn't the manifold, which had cracked. It was a seal on the injector, which had not been replaced previously the car had just stopped 20K ago due to an undiagnosed fault. This it transpires is a new source for Diesel fumes entering into the cabin. Watch out. So the seal was replaced and I picked up the car - which to be fair had cured some of the noise from the engine bay. So filled with enthusiasm I started a business jaunt up the M61 to Preston. Exactly 61 miles later the car decided to launch number 1 injector through the top of the engine cover into the bonnet, which you can imagine went with one hell of a bang! Along with more smoke than you have ever seen - apologies if you were behind me on the M61! The AA man was very impressed and got all excited about the carnage "I've never seen a Honda do that before they are so reliable" - Yeah right. I saw bits of engine I have never seen before, all very interesting after a 3-hour wait! The good news was I got a courtesy car out of the Honda Assistance plan which is rare and levels of service in the main dealer seem to be on the up. We are now on first name terms. The Saga I have no doubt will continue.......
