I can understand some of what you say but unless you report the problem nothing will be done and you will be left with the problem. Vosa has push Honda to act and they now have to check the system on my vehicle, however, I still believe it to be a design problem. I ask that you give weight to my report by contacting Vosa it is very simple to do on-line. I have set-up an e-mail address for people to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org please contact me there and then maybe we can arrange a telephone call. Regards Mal
I've owned this car for four weeks and have covered almost 3,000 miles, the majority of which was a 12 day driving holiday in France. Compared to my previous Subaru Legacy which I adored, this has been a sterling replacement and has not disappointed. It has completely changed my driving style, this once boy racer and impatient tailgater is now much calmer, laid back and composed. The live fuel consumption reminder together with cruise control has meant an average of 42mpg during it's first 3,000 miles. This is a mixture of 80mph French motorway cruising and town/backroad driving, not sedate 56mph stuff.
I can't fling it around corners like my former Subaru, but everyone has to grow up sometime and it's got plenty of grunt under the bonnet to avail itself of and it's a complete hoot to drive.
Further to my post of the 22/09/2008, the replacement clutch module fitted by Honda is already starting to fail. The pedal is clicking and the action is far from smooth. It is also becoming more easy to make the clutch judder (a problem that I have never had before) and the gearbox is as lumpy as ever. All this, and only 10,000 miles on the clock.
I am seriously thinking of getting an independent engineers report (any suggestions welcome). I regret having purchased this car - if anybody is thinking of making a purchase, come and test drive mine first!
Have held back until now on writing a review in the blind hope that Honda would sort out the car. They have not. 5 Main problems with the car. SAT NAV - complete and utter rubbish, and have photos to prove. Nonsensical routing decisions, and even situations where the car can find a destination, but not its way home. Honda verdict - It isn't going to get any better Auto Wipers - Don't work consistently - if the screen is saturated with water they do not come on, but they do come on frequently with a bone dry screen Auto Headlights - Same inconsistency as above. Don't come on when light levels drop, but will flash on and off in broad daylight if you drive under a small shadow. Honda verdict - All Honda's do this
Powerfold Mirror - Passenger mirror will randomly try and fold out when it is already in out position. Have had 4 now. Honda verdict - Honda technical unable to provide fix. Creaking clutch pedal - Sounds like a 25 year old Austin Allegro when driving. 5 months in, Honda still unable to fix. I have been without the car for a sum total of around 5 months while various dealerships, under the instruction of Honda UK, have tried to fix. After all of this time Honda now seem only prepared to look again at the wipers which are deemed to be unsafe, and have yet another go at fixing the clutch pedal. All the rest they say are not "real" problems, but just how the Honda features work. Steer well clear ... You have been warned. UTTER RUBBISH
